Jeff Popkin
Founder/President
After the devastating loss of his mother to breast cancer in 1987, Jeff dedicated his life
to the fight against breast cancer. He and his brother Eliot founded The Ellie Fund in
1994 in memory of their mother to help fight breast cancer and ease its effects on
patients and families. Click here for more history.
Jeff is also the Founder/CEO of Boston Event Guide, a full service marketing and events company, and the J-Connection, greater Boston's largest social organization for professionals and students in their 20s, 30s and beyond.
Julie Nations
Executive Director
Julie has sixteen years of non-profit leadership experience, with an emphasis in
healthcare fundraising. She joined The Ellie Fund in 2005, after six years with the
Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America as Executive Director for the New England and
Florida chapters. Her previous experience also includes marketing and special events
management for the Massachusetts Service Alliance, The Wellness Community-Greater
Boston, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Meals-On-Wheels.
Julie earned her bachelor's degree from San Francisco State University and master's degree from College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, Maine.
