Fundraise Your Way

Seeds of Support

Seeds of Support is Ellie Fund’s community fundraising program, empowering individuals, groups, schools, and businesses to turn their ideas into meaningful impact.

From neighborhood gatherings and athletic events to birthday fundraisers, workplace campaigns, and creative community initiatives, every fundraiser helps provide essential support services to breast cancer patients and families across Massachusetts.

No idea is too big or too small! Every seed planted helps hope grow.

How Seeds of Support works

  • 1. Plant the Seed

Share your fundraiser idea with us! Submit your fundraiser or event proposal using our Fundraiser Proposal Form, receive approval, and access our fundraising toolkit to help you get started.

  • 2. Grow Your Impact

Bring your community together and host your fundraiser your way. Share your story, raise awareness, celebrate your impact on social media, and inspire others to support Ellie Fund’s mission.

  • 3. See It Bloom

Your efforts directly support breast cancer patients and families through Ellie Fund services, including transportation, food, childcare assistance, and household support. Once your fundraiser is complete, simply submit the proceeds to Ellie Fund and celebrate the difference you made.

Tell us about it!

We want to know what you’re planning and to thank you for your efforts.

Fundraising Ideas

Turn life’s biggest celebrations into an opportunity to give back. Ask guests to donate in your honor.

  • Birthday fundraiser — create a personal fundraising page and ask friends to donate instead of giving gifts
  • Baby shower give-back registry — add a Seeds of Support fundraiser link to your registry
  • Anniversary donation — honor your milestone by giving back in lieu of gifts
  • Graduation celebration — invite classmates, family, and friends to support a cause you care about

Host an event your community will love. Charge a ticket price or ask for a suggested donation at the door.

  • Ticketed dinner party or supper club — cook for a crowd and donate the proceeds
  • Floral arranging or wreath-making workshop — partner with a local florist for a hands-on evening
  • Charity brunch or afternoon tea — host a stylish midday gathering with a suggested donation
  • Wine tasting or mocktail mixology night — a fun, social way to raise funds
  • Bake sale- classic, easy, and always a crowd-pleaser
  • Paint night, pottery, or craft class — partner with a local studio to donate a portion of fees

Get active and inspire others to support Ellie Fund. Charge a flat entry fee or collect pledges per mile, class, or day.

  • Community walk, run, or bike ride — organize a neighborhood route and collect pledges
  • Sponsored yoga or pilates class — partner with a local studio for a charity class
  • 30-day fitness or steps challenge — recruit friends and colleagues to pledge per day completed
  • Dance-a-thon or Zumba fundraiser — high-energy and great for groups
  • Swim-a-thon or cycling class — collect per-lap or per-mile pledges
  • Race or color run with a team — sign up as a Seeds of Support team and fundraise together

As a local business, you can support patients in your community.

  • Shop-for-a-cause event or pop-up — partner with a retailer to donate a portion of sales
  • Percentage-of-sales day — a business donates a set percentage of revenue on a designated day
  • Blowout for a Cause salon day — salons, spas, or barbershops donate proceeds from services
  • Restaurant or café give-back night — dedicate a portion of the bill or choose the proceeds of a certain item, like a pink dessert, to donate
  • Branded product with proceeds donated — sell a limited-edition item and donate the profits

No event required. A personal fundraising page takes minutes to set up and can reach hundreds of people.

  • Personal online fundraising page — set a goal, share your story, and spread the word
  • Social media birthday fundraiser — activate your network on Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok
  • Office raffle or prize drawing — collect donated prizes and sell raffle tickets at work
  • Game night — charge an entry fee for trivia, cards, or board games with friends
  • Backyard or community movie night — sell tickets and popcorn under the stars
  • Peer-to-peer email ask — a personal note to your network often outperforms social media

Schools and parent groups are powerful fundraising communities. Tie events to the school calendar for maximum participation. Check out our Student for Hope Program

Tie your fundraiser to a season or holiday for a natural hook that’s easy to promote.

  • October Breast Cancer Awareness Month campaign — go pink all month with themed events. Check out our dedicated October for Ellie campaign [link page]
  • Holiday gift alternative — send a card letting loved ones know a donation was made in their name
  • Valentine’s Day — host a Galentine’s brunch, wine night, or flower sale
  • Spring clean-out sale — hold a community garage sale and donate the proceeds
  • Lemonade stand— a classic kids fundraiser
  • Holiday cookie exchange — guests bring cookies and a donation to participate

Together, we can plant seeds of hope, compassion, and support for families facing breast cancer.
